The project explores the three fields Artificial Intelligence, Art and Neuroscience through experimentation and discussion. “What’s the interpretation of certain terms within each field?” “What is the perspective of the two other fields from one field?” “How can we access an output from one field through the eyes of the other fields?” We test abilities through the perspective from an outsider of a field. The tasks and discussions circle around the following terms: Clichés, White Cube / Black Box, Precision / Ambiguity and model / Model. We also include the terms Lie / Fake and Humor implicitly, as we belief these are important in collaborations, especially like those of art and science, and an important tool to handle failure and disagreement. We use a task as a tool, rather experimentally than scientific or artistic. Can we tackle connections, differences and ways to cooperate between the fields through our approach? “connexxxxxions” is a project in progress at the moment.

Primary questions for the visitors, printed: What could a white cube be in technology/science/AI? What could a black box be in the arts? Subtext: Please give us whatever comes to your mind. An idea, an example, a phantasy, your negative feelings about this questions
Secondary questions for the visitors: Can we see the white cube as an ideal space? Does it effect us even earlier than the artwork inside? Do we feel uncomfortable when entering it? (through sterility, color, strength of the architecture) – would we also feel uncomfortable in a black box if we could enter it? (through unknown behaviour and connections inside) Do the paintings on the Wall in a white cube compete with each other? Can we compare it to a competition in the sciences when we have several theories? During the development of the white cube there was an extension to the real space and to the 3D-space. Can we compare this to the crossing of disciplines in science or technology? The room also lost it’s neutrality. The wall became a membrane through which aesthetic and economic values can exchange, like in osmose.
